Our long-term 2015 Nissan Murano was pretty fuel-efficient in August, nearing its official EPA combined MPG rating over the course of 10 fill-ups. It wasn't enough, however, to move the needle on its lifetime performance in our long-term test.

I am also curious as to why it has been difficult for you all to get better mileage. I took another trip last weekend and over 570 miles, I averaged 28.2 mpg with an average speed of 59 mph (both from digital readout). Most of this was with cruise set to 74, but also included a 25 min idle time (to keep dogs cool during a stop in 95-100 deg weather) and several full throttle passing runs in some busy traffic. Manual calculations were 28.1 mpg, so basically the same as digital readout. This is in a FWD Platinum 2015 model. The first half of that trip (before the aggressive driving and idling time) I was getting 30 mpg with an average speed of 64 mph. Lifetime average (I keep track using a smart phone app) is now at 25.0 mpg over 3400 miles.
