i have a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee and when I'm in park or stopped at a red light my temperature will go all the way to hot and say transmission over temp what does that mean??? Or what is going on?? When I started driving it goes back toots normal temp

You could have low coolant or air in the system. You could have a loose or worn belt. You could have a bad water pump. You could have a leak. Get it to a shop for a diagnosis before driving it much more, you don't want to damage the engine.

Ok thanks I jus checked it needs coolant in it

That's step one. Now you need to find out if there's a leak. A shop can do a pressure test on it.
