Brake Issues (1997 Chevy Suburban; 1500 Series, 4 Wheel Drive)

I have a 97 Chevy Suburban and been having brake issues as listed below:
1) When brake is applied it seems the vacuum booster makes a noise that sounds like air escaping.
2) When brake is applied intermittently I would need to apply more pressure to the brakes.
3) Intermittent ABS light is on and off

Please advise what is the issue. Trying to pinpoint the problem.

Thank you in advance.

'air escaping' would mean there is a leak somewhere in the power booster which would also explain why you need to apply more pressure to the brakes. Your vacuum booster needs looked at.
