We've had a hot summer up here in northern California with 24+ plus days of over 100 (with the rest over 90) and the air conditioning in my '15 A3 has always been awesome. Never have I owned a vehicle that gets cold as fast and seems effortless in keeping it cold. To be fair, it's not exactly a big car.

how does the Output Air Temp and Air Speed compare to the Acura and the Kia in the first 30 - 90 Seconds. In my last car the air was a cold 40° F, but the volume of air was not adequate and the balance between the upper and lower vents was never right. It sounds like this is a well designed system.

Really good A/C...is this the first time these words have ever been spoken in regard to a German make? :P

Of course, my information is based on German cars from when I was a kid & young adult, say the 70's thru 90's.

A lot of people give Honda/Acura a hard time about their A/C but my TSX has no problem with the heat. Even in 90+ heat and high humidity the air out the vents will get down to about 38 or 37. And that's at 7 years old and 150,000 miles and never had a drop of refrigerant added to it. I live in the Gulf South and A/C performance is very important. My brother does HVAC work on the side and he says that A/C performance is dependent on thermal management. It has to dissipate a lot of heat from the condenser to cool effectively. A large condenser and powerful cooling fans are a sure sign of a good A/C. Make sure you hose down the condenser on your car regularly to clean out bugs and debris to keep it pumping out cold air.

Ditto on my TSX, it even gets colder than my Dads 2013 RDX, not bad for an 04.

Geez, turn that A/C off and open the windows if you're hot - we'll lose our ability to adapt to different temperatures if we keep chilling ourselves when it's "warm" out. We need to yank all these fancy climate controls our of cars and go back to plain old heaters and defrosters...

*snicker* Hee hee hee... nah, I'm just kidding. :D I hope my incoming 2016 Golf's dual zone climate control works that well; even though it never hits three digit temps here in WNY. :)
