VW sales have been down for years - nothing new. It's sad that the entire VW line up sells less compared to just one Honda model - the Civic for example... I think we will see a continued slide until VW leaves the US market - probably within 10-20 years.

I beg to differ with you. VW will never abandon the U.S. market, its way to big.

This was a major screw up by Volkswagon by polluting the air at up to 40 times the standard. I would never buy a Volkswagon after this.

Haven't cared much for this maker for years due to the lousy CS. Now they won't even be considered.

So now in additional to having a product line with very little appeal they have a black eye as liars and cheats. Let's say their 2018 objective of selling 800,000 cars can be binned. The real question is will any of the bad karma rub off on Audi and Porsche. I doubt it, but who knows.

Based on the comments here, things look grim for VW in the near term.

I've never been a fan of Volkswagen buit a lot of people are.

Americans have short memories and this will blow over before long.

Heck, Fiat built jonk, left the US with their tails between their legs and now they are back selling lots of cars! Still not good cars and they even own Chrysler!

    Go figure!
