this is strange! while heading home from the office last night on my way to carmax I had to excilerate at a high speed in order to exit the ramp and merge safely into the traffic when I did this I saw a "flash" "sorta" from my instrument panel and the check engine light went out"? Maybe it was an "air pocket in the fuel line" that caused this light to come on in the first place? Anyway I can't have it checked out until the light comes back on because I know they won't be able to get a code so I wait again. By the way, am I annoying you? Or did you mean I was beating a dead horse with this issue at Corporate? I only contacted them once and was told to call if I had any more problems, but your right being the dealership has helped me thus far I should give them the chance first to fix the problems. will wait and see.
DO NOT let them fool you. They can scan the history of trouble codes for over 100 key cycles, so they can certainly see something from yesterday.
Could be a very misinformed service advisor - it was that way 10-12 years ago, but not now.
You're not bugging me - I help consumers for a living - this is an acceptable aside.
Leave corporate out of it for now - deal directly with the dealer you purchased from - kicking the dealer out of the loop and involving corporate will only make things crawl towards a resolution.
thanks for the tip! I will call them back and suggest they have someone available soon. And as far as corporate you are correct in your assumption I thought about that very same thing.Hopefully I can post in an more positive fashion soon. One other thing I don't live far from a "AUTOZONE" shop maybe just for my own piece of mind I should stop by there and see what they find out, this way IF carmax again turns me away I can just pop in with the print out from AUTOZONE? Not trying to be sneaky just prepared? Its only a thought but I'll let you know.
idea is a great thing to do - I was going to suggest a full-blown diagnosis from a Ford dealership, then use the repair order from Ford when you talk with the folks at Car Max.
