And that this is caused by many different things. It could be as simple as a blown fuse, or as complicated as the BCM (Body Computer/Control Module). The good news is that there are a couple things you can try and if they don't work, look to the testing and replacing the actuator for the climate control. It is said that the BCM is rarely the cause of this. There are fuses in two locations, open the drivers side door and look at the side of the dash panel, you will see a pry off panel and behind that is the internal fuse block. There is another under the hood on the drivers side, look for a plastic box and pull off the cover. Make sure there are no bad fuses in either of these locations. If that is not the cause, below are instructions from a dealer tech. on how to re-calibrate the actuator.
NOTE: Prior to part replacement, re-calibrate the HVAC actuator. With vehicle running: [ul][*]Place mode to defrost on HVAC control.[*]Set temperature to full cold on HVAC control.[*]Set blower speed to any speed except off.[*]Hold down the EBL button until chime is heard. The system will then perform a calibration which takes about 60 seconds.
I am told that EBL is Electric Back Light or rear window defroster button.
If none of these solves your problem, look to a good shop to diagnose the condition of the actuator and maybe replace it. Part runs an average of 35 to 70 dollars plus labour.6
