Planning to buy a Ford Taurus 2000. It has 140,000 miles on it. The condition of the car seemed pretty good. The owner told me that only the brake pads need to be replaced. So The price was fixed on $1000. But when I checked with a mechanic, he said that the ball joint and the sway bar of the car might need to be replaced soon. And also says that the front right wheel makes a little noise. But the mechanic told me that the brake pads are still good. Should I still go for this car?

What can you buy for 1000.00? How capable is your mechanic?

The sway bar "might" need to be replaced? It either does or it doesn't! The front wheel makes a "little noise" from what? A wheel bearing?

It's worth about $1,100 if it didn't need any repairs per our appraisal tool. I'd offer lower.
