Electrical issues with dash

I have electrical issues as a constant (fuel and engine temp ever come on) problem with a 1987 Ranger 4X4, Ext cab Ranger with 98,800 original miles. The left side of the instrument pod and the back lit lights for the dash have all failed. Tach and speedo work fine as does the center bank of warning lights. Anybody have knowledge of corrective measures?
