Turn Signals

I have a 2008 Jeep Liberty that has developed a problem with the right turn signal. Sometimes the signal works fine. Sometimes it starts flashing left even though I was trying to signal a right (poeple must think they have a crazy ahead of them!). I also just developed a problem with my left (driver's side) brake light- doesn't work, but the right and high-mount brake light work fine. A few questions: 1) where is the flasher/module for the turn signals, and 2) could that gizmo be causing the problem with my brake light?
