Heater is whack!

It's fall now, and we've had a couple of pretty brisk mornings where I've needed to use the heat/defrost in my 1999 Olds Intrigue. First morning when I had to use it, I realized that I only had heat coming out of the passenger side, while the drivers side was blowing out nothing but arctic air. I fiddled with the heat setting, the vents, changed all the heating modes, to no success. I live in Indiana and winter will soon be upon us, and having heat only on the passenger side just will not work for me. I've been having some electrical issues, i.e headlights, turn signals burning out constantly, so I am not sure if this is yet another electrical situation or if this is some sort of fuse deal. I would greatly appreciate any sort of advice..
