I jumped at the chance to road-trip our 2015 Volvo S60. I won't do that again. The Volvo and I just didn't get along.

Surprising, Volvo seats are supposedly nirvana. Demonstrates why you need to be thorough on a test drive before buying.

The fuel economy is either a case of yet another underperforming tiny turbo or overzealous expectations. It is, after all, a 300hp sedan likely driven at highway speeds not conducive to achieving EPA ratings. If you managed 20 mpg over those 100 city miles, it would have been pulling 28mpg on the 600 mile highway stretch. Far south of the EPA ratings, for sure, but if you were doing 80mph on I-5, 28mpg looks pretty reasonable for 300hp.

I'd have to see some controlled real-world fuel economy tests to decide.

Do you guys ever use the eco mode on the freeway? I consistently get 34-35 when cruising Bay Area freeways, and 38-40 on I5. And that's with the AC turned back on. In a basically identical S60, same sport package and everything.
