Should I leave vsc option on or off

Hello ! Today the engine light was on and vsc was blinking so i took off the battery wire for two mins and put it back the engine light went off and vsc stopped blinking. So my question is should i leave vsc option on or off?? Can anyone help me with this

    I leave it always ON.  

    Shut it off when using overdrive  function
