Dashboard lights

At night, the dials (AC/ radio volume, etc) below the center infotainment screen are completely dark. Is there some way to illuminate them?? Seems like something that should happen automatically! Thanks for any help.

I looked at the owner's manual online and the only thing I see that might be the answer is the dimmer control might be turned down. Turn it all the way up until you feel it click. Page 170 of the manual
