How QUIET is new Accord?

I have a 2011 Accord LX. Everything is fine except for road noise and engine noise while accelerating; result is that I can listen to talk radio but no real music (jazz/classical). I realize that if I want a Lexus, I should pay $18K more and get one. Still, just wondering how the new Accords score in this dept.

Change tires . Most times road noise is a function of hard tires.
For engine noise, change oil to thicker oil and add fuel additives like Sea Foam for few tanks.

I agree about the tires, look on tirerack for the quietest tires in your car's size. Worn tires are louder, too.

I wouldn't use anything but the oil grade recommended Honda.

New cars come with oils recommended for higher mpg to fullfill Federal mandates..
Thin oils are not a good lubricant for engine parts which have not yet run in and become smooth.

It is trade off. I would put a grade higher, not too high. If they recommend 0-20 I would put 5-30

I have a Lexus RX350 and a 2013 Accord LX, and the Accord is surprisingly quiet, on the level of my Lexus. It must be due to the active noise cancellation system that the Accord has.

That's good news because road noise has been my biggest complaint with the Honda's I've owned.
