    $47k plus taxes for a fully loaded Honda Pilot! Damn, I would be better getting a similarly loaded 1-2 year old Acura MDX instead!

    The styling is relatively fresh inside out. The push-button shifter on the center console looks like a remote control, though. Like, you should be able to lift it out of its cradle and shift gears from the back seat! ;) It will be interesting to follow how the car handles as a daily driver.

    The issue you linked to was about a dealer installed accessory. Therefore the issue is not a factory build issue but more likely sloppy workmanship at the dealership that installed it.

    @odie6l noted that the roof rail system installed by his dealership is a standard item on the Touring and Elite trims. Thus my curiosity about the fitment of the Edmunds' tester.

    Second row captains chairs were a key to choosing a Highlander to be able to take our two 6'4" teens on road trips. Only being able to get them on the loaded model would have made the Pilot a nonstarter for me. (Cost and being stuck with large dia rims for a couple of reasons.)

    Front end looks like a Odyssey
    I was going to buy one when my lease ran out on my 2013 Pilot. Due to lack of inventory and
    jacked up Money Factor and dealers wanting msrp.Kept my 2013 Pilot until I can find a replacement.

    Looking forward to hearing how the single screen interface works out. Our two screen MDX interface really sours me on an otherwise terrific vehicle.

    We looked at all the Touring and the Elite trims sitting on the dealer lot along with the EX, EX-L and LX there and with and without the rails were having the issue with the front trim piece.

    I've found several Pilot Elites in the $52-$60k range; I don't know how that's OK with some people.

    This thing weighs as much as a minivan, gets minivan fuel economy, costs more than a minivan, and is nearly as long. Other than AWD (which I wouldn't want), I don't see the advantage to owning one.

    A MV won't be able to handle the Towing or gear that the Pilot will be able to pull, haul, stow.

    Comparing some specs may help.

    2016 Honda Pilot towing capacity is 3,500 to 5,000 lbs. Maximum cargo capacity is 109.2 cu. ft.

    2016 Dodge Grand Caravan towing capacity is 3,600 lbs. Maximum cargo capacity is 143.8 cu. ft. The Sienna has an AWD option with 3,500 lbs. towing and max cargo of 150.0 cu. ft. Neither is likely have approach angles or ground clearance anywhere near the Pilot.

    With just the hitch on any of the trims you will have the 3500lb with a 350lb tongue weight. You need to have the AWD with the ATF cooler installed to get the 5000lb with a 500lb tongue weight. I'm still fighting with the dealership about the ATF cooler. I asked for it initially and they said it was standard, but yet after the hitch and wiring was installed, there is no ATF cooler. Parts manager said it has to be ordered separately (for part and install = $400 for 6spd / $950 for 9spd trans.) The dealer said they will order and install but I must pay for the part ($200) and they will eat the labor ($200 = $400 total). I just need to wait till I have the funding to afford it.
