I really like the design of the new Pilot. I haven't had the chance to sit inside but it looks nice in pictures. Honda does seem to be returning to their roots. The new Pilot is nice, the new Civic is leaps and bounds better than the old one and probably better than any competitor, and their upcoming turbo engines are very promising. Honda used to define themselves as a company that builds engines that also sells cars. The upcoming 300+ horsepower 2.0 Turbo 4 and the hybrid twin turbo DOHC V6 in the NSX shows that somebody at Honda remembers Soichiro Honda's philosophy.

I'm so excited about this LT article! I work at a Honda dealer and I've sold a couple 2016 Pilots. I haven't sold an Elite yet; they're kind of a limited production model at this point. Can't wait to see how it handles 20,000 miles!

This generation Pilot also has the same AWD system as the Acura MDX except it doesn't have Super Handling capability. It does have several modes available that changes the behavior of the power delivery. This video shows how mud mode constantly transfer power front and back and left and right instead of just all out 50/50 distribution. The computer is essentially rocking the vehicle constantly to keep forward momentum. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAuNw2HPho0

Excellent choice. The Pilot is one of the most popular mid sized SUVs and should be a reliable and easy to maintain vehicle (although it IS a first year model) and I'm sure many will be looking forward to new posts.
