Car shuts off when put into reverse

I have a dodge Dakota sport 1998 v8 magnum 4x4, so after a while of driving and the truck is hot it shuts off when out into reverse . All other gears work fine, there is no check engine light on , truck runs fine when u first turn it on , when it is cold it gets reverse gear fine and dose not shut off but after it's been driven and gets hot when u put it in reverse it dose a jerk and u can hear a bit of grinding and it shuts off. Any help would be appreciated .

take it somewhere and have them look at your transmission cause that could cause all sorts of crud it's what my 98 chevy blazer did before it died a painful death.
