I actually believe that the 2015 Jeep Renegade has enough positive attributes to stand on its own merit. It doesn't need to be draped in Jeep heritage.

Yeah, agree that's a little much, especially the in-your-face "Since 1941" thing. Its cool to have a tiny piece hidden here or there, but this is a little much.

It's exactly what you're saying. They're trying to force your subconscious to accept that this IS a Jeep and not just another badge-engineered product. It's had no real input, I'd bet, from a Jeep product designer, with the exception of possibly a Jeep Stylist. I'm not saying it's not perfectly suited for what it's designed for. I don't know, since I don't have one. This might be a reaction to how people responded to the Patriot & Compass when they first came out. Everyone had high hopes for the Patriot because it looked a LOT like a Cherokee (the real one, not the one they've got now) & everyone thought it'd perform similar. With the Compass, at least the first generation, it looked like something a woman or metrosexual male would use to run to Starbucks on the way to a Pilates class. It really wasn't "jeep" enough for the core customer base.

I kind of like the grill "vents" on the mirror. Reminds me of the "art" I hung over my garage when I lived in Boise, a grill from a '49. The neighbors were kind enough to tolerate it. Bet Jeep really hated losing their "look and feel" lawsuit against Hummer.

The easter eggs are cool but yeah, "Since 1941" is definitely over the top.

All that iconography is lame. I don't need Jeep to justify the car I bought.

Like I said in another post the center high mount brake light in the Chevy Cruze that is shaped like the Chevy bowtie emblem is a pretty cool easter egg.

Kind of like all the ///M badges on the M235i- intended to make the the car's wearer think that he's the owner of a true M car...
