Very well done Chevrolet! And this is coming from a person who hates GM. But I gotta call it like I see it.

Looks like they styled it more like a cute-ute on the production version. The concept had more of a European city car look or tall wagon look like they were trying to copy the BMW i3.

It seems like a good car, but I'm disappointed in the styling. I don't get why they couldn't keep some of the seemingly production conscious things (i.e. not concept car bling) like the front grill, front door glass, C-pillar (I expected it widened but of similar design) and rear glass, or that nice body line on the front fender. The concept had nice lines, the production car looks bland.

Very promising. A 200 mile electrical range will put to bed a lot of the range anxiety that limits the appeal of cars like the Leaf. Let's see how GM executes on other aspects of everyday practicality.

Yeah, looks like Chevrolet have come up against the Honda Fit. I know a Fit owner who claims 45 mpg. So with the Fit coming in a cool $10k below the cost of a Bolt, one wonders, why bother? Sure, a 200 mile electric range is way cool, and I dig it. I suppose those willing to pay the extra moolah for that will certainly do so, and the fact the Bolt is here is good. But when push comes to shove, most will opt for a Fit or similar vehicle over the Bolt, hands down. Reality is reality, and in a world where money and return on investment talks, the Bolt will be relegated to, "Oh, you have one? How cool. Now, let's talk about me."

Really? Fuel economy + initial price is all that matters when selecting a new vehicle? For many, I'm sure that's true, but there are a lot of people who are ready for a smooth and quiet electric powertrain (and the momentum is building as battery technology advances). This will compete with other electrics. Buyers limited to sub-$20k vehicles, obviously, will need to look elsewhere.

Another ICE defender, who thinks breathing gas fumes in heavy city traffic is OK, & dumping infra-red energy absorbing, Earth changing CO2 into the air is also, OK. I will say Honda Fit 45mpg is better than a Dreadnought's sub-20mpg. But, EVs push MPG over 100MPGe, so lets EV gear up. If ya say Honda Fit is priced well, beat the sub-$13,000 for a 2016 Elantra.
