Radio Problems

The radio on my Grand Cherokee works intermittently. There are times when I turn it on and the radio will display the stations but there is no sound. I have noticed that the volume will not activate when in this situation as it does when the radio is working. When working, if you turn the volume button, the station indication goes away and the volume indicator shows on the screen. When the radio will not play, the volume indicator does not show up. I have tried other bands, AM, FM and Sat, but none work.

Any suggestions here?
