Motor won't start

The only way the motor starts is with the spark plugs in the 99-04 i beleive setup on the distributor. I have replaced the distributor and throttle position sensor and when it starts it shoots straight to redline. Im at the end of my rope and i dont know what to do im wondering if i didnt put the new distributor in at top dead center or what. Please if anyone can help me the van is a 99 with the 3.3l motor, i have replaced spark plugs and wires.
