Toyota has some split-screen functionality in their Entune suite, but not quite as configurable as iDrive. The reconfigurable dash makes a bunch of sense, especially in this day and age of touchscreens aplenty.

I like this feature on my 5er. I usually run the night vision camera on the large side and the map on the small.

I keep street/lat/lon info on the right, and infotainment info on the left (or maps, when navigating) in my MINI Cooper. When navigating, turn-by-turn goes on the right side and to the HUD.
