    I really don't understand why more manufacturers don't do this. On a personal car, I would prefer to disable auto-stop, as I don't think the constant restarting of the engine helps longevity.

    BMW should be an example for everyone else. If I could permanently disable this feature and re-activate it only when I wanted to I would be all for this. I wouldn't even mind a reminder and chime every time I started the car that it was turned off. It would be great, however, if it could automatically turn back on when the low fuel light came on to try to save as much fuel as possible.
