Manual transmission slips and clonk noise intermittent

I have a 2003 gmc sierra 1500 2wd manual transmission with high mileage. It started to slip ( like in neutral but still in gear) at 4th gear when accelerating but only for a short time and finish with a big clonk noise before going back in gear. Ive checked fluid level and was missing a full pint. Added fluid and now it seem to becoming worst (doing it more often and in different gears) is there any way i can fix the tranny or i need a new one? Those manual transmission are hard to find around here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
