Automatic transmission will not shift out of 1st gear

Hi, we have a 2005 PT Cruiser. At times it will not shift out of 1st gear and at times the speedo will stop working. Codes U010, P0522 and P1603 have been set at different times, but not all set at the same time. Replaced ignition switch, speed sensors and relays. Still having the same issue. Will drive great for a while or a few days and then it will not shift out of 1st gear. If you stop and shut it off and restart or disconnect the battery it will start and drive just fine. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
