Ford Electrical Issue (P0563)
I am having a bizarre electrical issue with my 07 Freestyle. This started June 2015 and has continued since.
The following symptoms occur intermittently. Sometimes I'll go a few weeks without symptoms, sometimes they occur twice in a week. What happens is that after starting the car, I'll lose all interior electrical. No radio, power windows, instrument cluster, interior lights, etc. The transmission makes a thud when shifting from Park to Drive/Reverse. When driving, the car will not shift to other gears.
My only course of action is to disconnect the negative on the battery cable. Basically, resets the computer. On occasion, the Check Engine Light will be P0563 (System voltage high).
I did change the battery back in June 2015 and had the alternator replaced July 2015. Issues never occurred until after replacing the alternator. In fact, the alternator failed and was replaced (under warranty) in December 2015. Within 2 weeks of this alternator being replaced, my symptoms re-appeared. Repair shop that replaced alternator has used refurbished alternator.
I've checked fuses and relays and none are blown. Only similar issue I have seen on the boards is the instrument cluster; I checked my connections and those seemed fine.
Any help will be appreciated!
