2007 GMC Acadia - True Dangers

Dear GM,

I purchase my vehicle brand new in 2007. I have had nothing, but repeated problem and dangerous situations with this vehicle and wanted to express my extreme lack of trust with not only of this vehicle, but how this vehicle has caused almost a few near death experience. I will try not to get to detailed and keep it to the point.

My vehicle is currently at the GMC Dealer with its 3rd oil leak and will require its 3rd drop of the engine, which the prior 2 times has caused additional problems such has water pump damage and incorrectly reassembled engine, damage to front struts, and other items. The latest diagnosis is $2000 oil pan plus $500 oil pressure sensor. Below are the few dangers my wife and children have experienced since owning this vehicle and a few that are unresolved.

1. IPC - Replaced complete Instrument Cluster dashboard -While driving on the Freeway in the evening vehicle was still on, but went completely dark, with the entire vehicle's with no instrument cluster or indicators. Car pulled over and was dead and had to be towed to dealership.

2. Vehicle Consistently hesitates- few times I had to mention this problem. Cause Oil leak. Drop engine, cam shaft tensioners, reseal timing chain cover.

3. Brought car home after engine removed. Entire garage was covered by coolant. Took back and had to replace water pump.

3. Hesitation reappears plus another oil leak. Drop engine again and Replace Timing Chain and reseal timing chain cover again. Replace engine mounts.

4. Car is in Drive but gear does not engage. Put back in park and then reshift. This happens once a week. Brought to dealer twice and unable to duplicate. This is a problem I am sure will get much worse. Once in drive and finally moves its fine.

5. Loss of brake power. Slammed brakes all the way to the floor barely stops. Replace Master Brake Cylinder.

6. Loud humming in steering. Replace Power Steering Pump.

7. Humming reappeared replace rack and pinion front suspension.

8. Lift gate would open by itself when returning to the vehicle. Could not duplicate. Lift gate then free fall on daughters head while loading groceries at Trader Joes.

These were the more dangerous and life threatening issues. I am certain the transmission shifting issue is the next most dangerous event and just want to document it with GM Corporate.

I would like to know what my options are.

Best Regards,
Mike G
