Alarm system not disengaging when key is turned

I have had a problem with my alarm system not disengaging when I turn my key. Sometimes it works, but a lot of times I have to turn the key back and forth as many as 30-40 times to get the alarm to disengage. It always engages without a problem. The door unlocks, but the alarm stays active.

Anyone out there that has has this problem? Any suggestions?
