Radio not turning on, shows time on display

Hello, I just bought my durango, it did not have a keyfob and the alarm would sound everytime the door was unlocked with a key, and the radio would not turn on. I was hoping after buying a new fob that the radio would work when the security system started working properly. I know the radio works because i put it in my fathers 2005 durango and it worked flawlessly. It is the 6 disc without rear audio comtrols. All i get is the time display, nothing happens when any button is pushed. Any help would be great, thanks a lot.
