    RE: Tire wear
Tire inflation pressure needs to be checked on a regular basis (weekly). Always go with recommended pressure. We traveled 10 days in South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana during the month of July. Our 2006 300C has the tire pressure monitoring system and with the tires at the recommended 30 PSI, I saw the pressure in each tire increase by as much as 4 PSI during the day as we traveled around. Now we have had a couple of cool nights(finally) and in the morning the monitor system shows 29 PSI but within a couple of blocks down the street they come up to 30 PSI. You don't have near the problem with underinflation during the winter months in Virginia like we do in Wisconsin. Rotating the tires every 6000 miles is a must. I work at a DC dealership and you would be surprised at the number of folks who think that the service writers are simply trying to make money off them by strongly suggesting that they rotate every 6000 miles. It seems that original equipment tires have always been a sore point to some extent. Glad to hear that you love the car.

Hello everyone. We had planned on ordering a 2006 300 or 300C in the spring, but I kept watching the model-year-end sales within reach of our home, here in WV. Well, our local dealer had a 2005 midnight blue pearl coat 300C, one year old, local first owner, in mint condition, available for the right price.

We had rented a loaded 300 Touring for a long trip this summer to determine if it was a great a traveling car as we suspected. It was! We've had the 300C for two weeks now, and are very impressed with the Hemi, etc.

The only options on this vehicle was walnut interior trim and memory pedal position. So I am interested in recommendations regarding dealership addition of parking assistance (first biggie), and whether anyone uses the "protection" bra. I don't particularly like those, but have been advised that they go on, and come off easily and are good for use on long trips, etc. What do you all say?"

Here's a pic (I hope). At least it "previewed" before I posted.

I live in arizona. my silver '05 300c awd has 5000 miles on it. I did not want awd since its not needed here but it was the only car with the color and options I wanted. I figure it will help on resale, or if I do travel up to the mountains. I have noticed no diffference in driving awd vs rwd.

the car has been great so far. minor problems include the front seat will not go back automatically the 2 inches or so, stopped working a few weeks ago. recently I ran over a nail, the self sealing did not work and the tire had to be repaired. I hear a pop in the morning under the dash, I know its been reported on other posts. sounds like a large marble hitting something. I am a little disappointed in the gas mileage. the a/c has been running 100% of time and the computer shows 14-15 mpg city. I am hoping without the a/c I will get the 17.

today I am attending the chrysler inspired drives event and am scheduled to drive the srt 8 and crossfire srt 6 on a race course. will report back.

Being retired from DC and getting employee discount on my new "C" I was in no hurry to get it after ordering it on Feb.15,2005. The dealer said the 2005 model year was sold out so I would end up with an 06. I said that was great, but it really didn't matter because it is my last new car and will have to last me 20 yrs. I just sold my 1984 Daytona Turbo Z (never driven in the winter)It still ran great and looked great. My new 300C is by far the nicest Chrysler product I ever owned. It was delivered June 28th,05. I've owned a lot of them, some better than others, but no lemons. After reading some of the forums on this site and other 300 sites, I'm glad I ended up with a 2006 model, since there were a few problems with the first model year. It is cool vanilla with everything but sunroof and siruis radio. It is a lot of car for the money and with over 7,000 trouble free miles it is now tucked away for the long NY. winter. I did add one accessory to the vehicle and that was custom splash guards. I bought universal medium size splash guards from Huskyliner and four hemi emblems for the new charger from my local dodge dealer, then had the flaps painted cool vanilla. After the paint cured I applied the Hemi emblem to the splash guards and installed. 4 flaps $60.00 (4)emblems $60.00 Painting $60.00 Total $180.00 Expensive flaps, but they are awesome.

I have a Chrysler 300 Touring. Love the car except the very uncomfortable driver's seat. I drive approx. 1000 miles/week and end each day with a sore butt. Any recommendations??

Took delivery of our new 300C (nicknamed "THE MISSILE")on Feb.2. It had 7 miles (WOW). Gotta just love this car, painted Magnesium Pearl. Gets oh so many looks, it makes you feel so good. Practicaly get overtaken at the gas station with questions. Just turned over 500 miles. What a dream to Drive. The wife didn't like it at first...said it looked gangsta...starting to grow on her quick though. What can you say about the HEMI other than I think they built this CAR/MOTOR combo especially for me Ha Ha . AWESOME. I'm 62 yrs old....never lost the need for speed. :P

Hi, everyone. I just took possession of a spankin' brand new (10 miles) 06 300 Limited Signature Series. I've only had it a week and I've already put 700 miles on it. I simply love the styling of the car. To me it looks like it has a factory chopped top. Anyway, mine is the Black Pearl one, not sure of the correct name. Some of the extras on the car are sun roof, 6 Boston Acoutic speakers, the GPS 6 CD/MP3 radio. 2 tone leather interior, 8-way heated seats, the adjustable pedals..the list goes on. The engine in it is the 3.5L which is a giant step up from the PT.
I really wasn't expecting to buy so soon. I had stopped by the dealership to make an appointment for oil change on my 01 PT Cruiser. On my way out, I drove through the new car lot. Needless to say, I now have the 300 and the PT is gone. I must say, the dealership where I bought the car, have treated me like royalty. I thank them for that.

Only after I bought my second 2006 300C and got a DC confirmation envelope with an ID card for my extended warranty from Daimler Chrysler did I realize I HAD NOT received anything like that after my first purchase last summer from a different dealer 300 miles distant. Careful examination of my paperwork package back at my office revealed the first dealer had used an obscure looking form that apparently put my big bucks for an extended warranty to some firm I never heard of and not one word was told me during the purchase I would NOT get a Chrysler extended warranty that I paid big buck for. The third party warranty was from some part of a firm called Olympicare Automotive services, which is p/o "Ethos Group." Does Anyone have any idea who or what this Ethos Group is -- before I go out and take into that dealer for a Chrysler extended warranty. I consider I was scammed for not being advised about this and given an option of whether or not I wanted a third party source for that policy. Never heard a single word about such a firm. w7bs@juno.com sure would like to know who or what they are and anyone's experience with them.

Just bought my 2006 Black 300 Limited in February. It made all my neighbors green with envy. The heated seats are great in the cool late winter mornings of central Florida. The black pearlcoat just glistens in the Florida sun, and it goes great beside my white Sebring Convertible.
  • a4davea4dave Member Posts: 2
DO NOT make the error of giving a single dollar of your hard earned money to Olympicare. I have done it twice now and can tell you it is a waste of money.

    The examples -
My 2000 Audi A4 timing belt idler failed. No coverage. If ther belt breaks they cover it, but only if the belt breaks. Timing belts do not break, they wear, they even stretch a little, but they just do not break of their own accord. By the way that warranty cost $1750.

We bought a 2000 Ford Escort for my girlfriends mother. Exactly one week from the day she drove it off the lot the drivers side ball joint came apart going through a mall parking lot. Again zero coverage.

    The experience -
Every single time I have called these people the first step, even before asking for a contract number, is to begin explaining why they are not liable for the part in question.

They are rude and quite arrogant.

Save your money this is a big loser.

I have to replace my outside mirror on the drivers side, the mirror has gone south ($150) has anyone done this themselves? I am not to happy with Chrysler lately at 55K, the AC evap went out ($750), my AC guy says the don't evacuated them well enough at the factory and anyone who buys one new should immediatly take it to an AC shop and get it removed and the system properly purged and the moisture removed so it will not corrode the evaporator. The exact thing happened to my 300M only it was still in warranty. I have a 300C 2005 delivered in 2004 with 55K miles. No problems except the mirror and AC.

Hi, My name is Gail. I've had my 300C for two years now, I got it as my one and only Christmas gift and to this date still could not be any happier. It is Satin Jade in color and just about fully loaded (exception of navigation and DVD). Living here in Southern CA I keep it clean and polished and I did replace the grill, so I still get compliments all of the time. Yes, my car does return the favor and "turns me on", even though I did have a problem with brake squeaking about 1 1/2 years ago. Eventually they did replace the pads, so I was grateful. The only other complaint I have now is the seat not always retracting upon exiting. As I was reading some of the postings I noticed that a "Gary" was able to tell some of us folks how to solve that problem, I couldn't find it but I would be happy if someone could tell me. Thanks! :)

Gail- you need to go to the Chrysler300:seat memory board and go to post #12,you will find the answer your looking for.I'm glad you like your 300.Good Luck.
  • smithedsmithed Member Posts: 444
Gail, I was able to fix my seat using the post that Xtec is talking about. I also have a Satin Jade 300C since July 2005. It has been great. It sounds as though yours is equipped just about like mine. :shades:

Thank you guys for the information for solving the problem on the seat memory. It has worked so far! I just fell in love with my C all over again. :)
  • coolrunningcoolrunning Member Posts: 117
I noticed that on both of my 2006 300C's the seat only retracts if I remove the keys before opening the door. If my timing is reversed and I open the door with the engine running and then turn it off and pull the keys, the seat doesn't move. I think it is designed that way.

I purchased a 2005 chry 300. My vehicle is midnight blue and looks great, However I continue to have engine light problems. The dealership now saids I did a EGV valve. Has anyone had problems with the engine light coming on often.

Hello FROM Las Vegas - Lady "QtKitty"! ;-) ;)
I have had my eyes on the 300'S for a few years now and today I am trading my 2006, "PT" for a 2006, 300 TOURING.

    * I checked the RECALL list and I wanted to know if any other TOUR-06- OWNERS had something to add, any other serious glitches you may know of that I should have checked out as well. :confuse:

    * Also do you know if in order for these things to be checked does it have to be at Chrysler or can it be done any where? I only ask because the car is located at a Lincoln Dlrshp.
  • coolrunningcoolrunning Member Posts: 117
You can check for any active recalls on your car on the Chrysler.com website. There is a pull down menu that asks for your vehicle identification nember (VIN) and it instantly informs you about any pending recalls.

Service (under warranty) can be had at ANY Chrysler OR Dodge dealership. I would recommend any 5 Star rated dealership over a non-rated dealership. I don't know of any dealerships that sell Lincoln/Ford/Mercury that also have a Chrysler/Dodge franchise, but maybe they do exist. Otherwise, you probably need to find a Chrysler/Dodge dealership to service your Chrysler under warranty.

You can take it just about anywhere for routine maintenance such as oil changes, radiator flushes, brakes and tires. ;)

I have a buzzing/whine sound coming from the inside the dashboard at speeds of 75 mps to 100 mph (depending on the day and I think head wind). I verfied that their are no air leaks around the windshield. Also removed the cowl and windshield wipers and still the noise was present. The dealership technician won't test drive the car since it occurrs over the speed limit and will not let me show then. The service agent went with me and he heard it and he thinks it is mechanical. Could their be something with the speedometer (although I would expect this to be constant with speed). Could it be something in the climate control system? The technician and I talked about it and he says everything checked out ok at the dealership and that there is nothinf mechanical behind the dashboard. Any thoughts?

THE OIL CHANGES ARE DONE SO POORLY THAT ON SEVERAL TIMES,DRAIN PLUGS LEFT LOOSE,FILTERS LEFT LOOSE,YOUR CAR WAS DRIVEN WITHOUT OIL OUT TO THE LOT,PROBLEM REALIZED,RETURNED BACK TO THE LUBE AREA KNOCKING AND JUST FILLED WITHOUT INFORMING YOU. IT IS THE SEAL AROUND THE WINDSHIELD!!! THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE SEAL. THEY GLUE THEM DOWN. TAPE THE SEAL YOURSELF WITH MASKING TAPE. DRIVE. TELL THE IDIOTS AT THE DEALER YOU DIAGNOSED IT YOURSELF.

After years of having Hondas and loving them, my husband and I loved the appearance of the Chrysler 300. Beautiful car! No real complaints about anything until I needed to go somewhere last week and needed to use my navigational system that I hardly use. Working only 1.5 miles from work, I don't have to use the navigational system often. Well, I take it to the authorized Chrysler Dealer in Inglewood California (at Carmax), whose service already lacks professionalism, but that's where I had to go. I tell them the problem that my "toggle switch to select streets, cities, etc. on the navigational system will not allow me to select anything". To my surprise I was informed that I needed to replace the entire radio and navigational system on the vehicle because just the toggle switch, or Knut as they call it, can't be replaced. I just about flipped my lid when they gave me the estimate receipt, $3,089. So the radio works fine, the cd player works fine, the navigational system works fine, if they can just fix the darn knob that's needed. Anyway, they assured me that the knut was stripped and that was my only option and informed me also "this is a common problem for this vehicle". I just want those considering to purchase a Chrysler 300 to know of this "common problem". I think it's ridiculous that my car, which only has 25,000 miles and a pretty much unused navigational system (perhaps used once a month) is in need a completely new system because a Knut can't be fixed. This has definitely put the icing on the cake for me. Dealing with poor service is one thing, but being told that this is a common problem on these cars and expected to fork out nearly 3100 is another thing, seems this needs to be RECALLED. Efforts to solve through problem through Chrysler Corporation is difficult. You talk to one person and give them the entire scenario, get disconnected as they call Carmax to speak to a manager to get full details on my problem. When I call back I have to start FROM SCRATCH with a totally new person. No return calls, no assistance. Going back to Honda is sounding much better to me. I also noticed the the entire in the Chrsyler is wearing fast. Mind you, I don't have kids or pets. I had my last car 11 years and no tears in upholstery at all.

I just had this start happening this week on my 2005 300 (Touring). I took it in today and had the oil changed and the trans tuned up. They indicated that my malfunction light was also coming on due to the EGR valve. I am having mine replaced tomorrow. I'll be able to tell you tomorrow whether or not this fully rectifies the problem.

I also experience a vibration in the steering wheel when on the freeway at speeds between 55-60 mph. I inquired on this forum about it and found a few people with the same problem. It is typically the torque converter. The vibrations can be eliminated with a computer flash update and in some instances a new torque converter.

hello...new to site....own 2005 300 (hemi) (silver) brand new from showroom floor and have always loved the car. However, I am on the 3rd transmission (under warranty) and now I am getting scared .. 1. It happen again 2. Not be under warranty 3. Chrysler not care. And after reading some of the blogs it appears this will come true. I may be looking for a new car or suv...recommendations, suggestions or comments. Thanks, donna
  • smithedsmithed Member Posts: 444
that is a little strange for these transmissions. yes, they leaked once at the pin connector, but that is easly fixed. Most people have had no transmission issues at all.

I too have a 2005 touring. I LOVE my car. I too had a EGR replaced, and did not solve my problem. I now have spent 1,150.00 and my car still reads on code ,random misfire. The engine light is still on and it shudders when in park and not running. The dealer said I had a burnt valve, which I do not think is right. Any one else had this problem? It runs good just engine light on and will not idle.

Bought a 300c heritage, list $42150 for $28000, including taxes, title and everything else. It is a leftover 2008. Black and light beige. Does this come with a remote starter?? Can't find it. Nice car that vibrates at 60 mph.
  • coolrunningcoolrunning Member Posts: 117
Wow! What a deal on a Heritage! I don't think they had remote starters, but you should be able to find out by looking at your key. It would have a start button on it. I love both of my 2006 Heritages, and plan to keep them forever. You mentioned vibration at 60 mpg; I wonder if it may be related to wheel balance. The rims have stick on wheel weights that sometimes come off in the high pressure washer of your local car wash. I lost one that way, but it was an easy thing to fix. I had the wheels checked for balance and they found it right away. No problems since then. Enjoy your black beauty!

What changes have been made on the 2010 touring model? I see the dealers have ordered them and now are waiting delivery.
