Tire inflation pressure needs to be checked on a regular basis (weekly). Always go with recommended pressure. We traveled 10 days in South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana during the month of July. Our 2006 300C has the tire pressure monitoring system and with the tires at the recommended 30 PSI, I saw the pressure in each tire increase by as much as 4 PSI during the day as we traveled around. Now we have had a couple of cool nights(finally) and in the morning the monitor system shows 29 PSI but within a couple of blocks down the street they come up to 30 PSI. You don't have near the problem with underinflation during the winter months in Virginia like we do in Wisconsin. Rotating the tires every 6000 miles is a must. I work at a DC dealership and you would be surprised at the number of folks who think that the service writers are simply trying to make money off them by strongly suggesting that they rotate every 6000 miles. It seems that original equipment tires have always been a sore point to some extent. Glad to hear that you love the car.
We had rented a loaded 300 Touring for a long trip this summer to determine if it was a great a traveling car as we suspected. It was! We've had the 300C for two weeks now, and are very impressed with the Hemi, etc.
The only options on this vehicle was walnut interior trim and memory pedal position. So I am interested in recommendations regarding dealership addition of parking assistance (first biggie), and whether anyone uses the "protection" bra. I don't particularly like those, but have been advised that they go on, and come off easily and are good for use on long trips, etc. What do you all say?"
Here's a pic (I hope). At least it "previewed" before I posted.
the car has been great so far. minor problems include the front seat will not go back automatically the 2 inches or so, stopped working a few weeks ago. recently I ran over a nail, the self sealing did not work and the tire had to be repaired. I hear a pop in the morning under the dash, I know its been reported on other posts. sounds like a large marble hitting something. I am a little disappointed in the gas mileage. the a/c has been running 100% of time and the computer shows 14-15 mpg city. I am hoping without the a/c I will get the 17.
today I am attending the chrysler inspired drives event and am scheduled to drive the srt 8 and crossfire srt 6 on a race course. will report back.

I really wasn't expecting to buy so soon. I had stopped by the dealership to make an appointment for oil change on my 01 PT Cruiser. On my way out, I drove through the new car lot. Needless to say, I now have the 300 and the PT is gone. I must say, the dealership where I bought the car, have treated me like royalty. I thank them for that.
The examples -
My 2000 Audi A4 timing belt idler failed. No coverage. If ther belt breaks they cover it, but only if the belt breaks. Timing belts do not break, they wear, they even stretch a little, but they just do not break of their own accord. By the way that warranty cost $1750.
We bought a 2000 Ford Escort for my girlfriends mother. Exactly one week from the day she drove it off the lot the drivers side ball joint came apart going through a mall parking lot. Again zero coverage.
The experience -
Every single time I have called these people the first step, even before asking for a contract number, is to begin explaining why they are not liable for the part in question.
They are rude and quite arrogant.
Save your money this is a big loser.
Bye Bye Midnight Blue...
A fast wagon there. Enjoy.
I have had my eyes on the 300'S for a few years now and today I am trading my 2006, "PT" for a 2006, 300 TOURING.
* I checked the RECALL list and I wanted to know if any other TOUR-06- OWNERS had something to add, any other serious glitches you may know of that I should have checked out as well. :confuse:
* Also do you know if in order for these things to be checked does it have to be at Chrysler or can it be done any where? I only ask because the car is located at a Lincoln Dlrshp.
Service (under warranty) can be had at ANY Chrysler OR Dodge dealership. I would recommend any 5 Star rated dealership over a non-rated dealership. I don't know of any dealerships that sell Lincoln/Ford/Mercury that also have a Chrysler/Dodge franchise, but maybe they do exist. Otherwise, you probably need to find a Chrysler/Dodge dealership to service your Chrysler under warranty.
You can take it just about anywhere for routine maintenance such as oil changes, radiator flushes, brakes and tires.
I also experience a vibration in the steering wheel when on the freeway at speeds between 55-60 mph. I inquired on this forum about it and found a few people with the same problem. It is typically the torque converter. The vibrations can be eliminated with a computer flash update and in some instances a new torque converter.
