Check engine light on, runs rough.

I recently bought a 2004 isuzu axiom, drove about 10 miles, started heating blew reserve antifreeze tank lid off, had it towed 80 miles home. I have checked to see why check engine light was on, said cylinder 1 misfire, put new thermostat in,done pressure test on system, dropped alittle during test. Runs rough heat hand goes up to halfway. Radiator hose on left of motor if standing in front of vechile seems to stay cold. I don't know what the small radiator fan on front of radiator is for, never seen it come on. I'm just sick on my stomach bought this for my family vehicle and just unsure what my next move needs to be. Thanks in advance for reading my post.
