I programmed key fobs the other night, they worked, but my 2004 Forester battery was dead this morn?

Does anyone have an idea about this?

You left an interior light on or your key in the accessory or on position.

I can't imagine that the car's RF receiver somehow got stuck trying to send a signal to the computer, but hey, what do I know.

Or the parking light switch on top of the steering wheel got turned on. Had a cat do that to my old Outback one time.

Looks related to the new fob programming but best rule out the simpler stuff first. Likely just a coincidence. Even if a button on the fob was stuck, you likely aren't leaving it within 20 feet of the car.

How old is the car battery?
