Engine cooling fans and ac compressor not coming on.

neither of the 2 fans come on with engine running, temp gauge doesn't go above mid way,, when selecting AC compressor clutch does not engage.. and no fans come on. Found something on line about ECT and disconnecting it to get fans to come on. Did that and both fans came on . Compressor did not kick in but fans worked.
Any help would be appreciated.
