Hi Friends,
Please I need some help. My 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid is sick. First I got my low voltage battery completely drained. I replaced with a new battery. I try to start the engine and after few seconds it shots down and I get this message "Stop Safely Now" and also the Service soon message. The red triangle is on and the service wrench key as well and the engine will not start at all. After 15 or 20 min I will be able to start the engine again but wit the same outcome..

Please I need some advice..

    All any of us can do is guess and guessing is never a good thing to do. You really need to have your Ford Dealer or another QUALIFIED shop take a look. This could be a number of things.

    The red triangle is the high voltage system warning, not the 12v battery. If you had the codes from the PCM and could post them (as well as codes from all of the modules) I could at least explain what they mean, but that is not a diagnosis. It takes a lot more hands on testing to analyze the failure, only after that is done can a diagnosis be offered. One of the reasons the "Stop Safely Now" message occurs is with the high voltage system problem regenerative braking is shut down so you only have the service brakes and you might not even have any brake assist. You're just not very likely to find anyone with experience with this car, and especially this system other than a specialist or a dealer.

    Hi thecardoc3 thanks, do you know how I can obtain the codes from the PCM. I have this OBD can II scan tool but I could not retrieve any codes...

    The first thought is that communication is disrupted and that in itself may help with the actual analysis of the failure. However being that you are likely referring to an aftermarket code puller, it may just be that the tool is inadequate. You really need a tool that addresses the manufacturer side of the system, especially with regards to the high voltage control system. I wouldn't even consider touching this if I didn't have the Ford factory IDS scan tool. Even professional level aftermarket tools have sufficient holes in the coverage that they can make diagnostics and repair of some hybrid vehicle systems challenging.
