This car's only saving grace is that it's built on a Miata platform. Sadly everything else including the drive-train and electronics is FCA. Oh well.

It only gains 10 hp with the turbo? Huh?

wondering why the top-of-the-line Abarth model has less HP than the base model. Having a variant of the Mazda motor makes me a little more comfortable than having the Fiat motor, although it probably isn't 100% fair for me to compare my '79 and '81 Fiat Spiders to my '96 Miata.

What an awfully written and confusing article. The "power plant is similar to the engine found in the Mazda MX-5 Miata", really? Lets compare; at naturally aspirated 2.0 liter built by Mazda vs a 1.4 liter turbocharged built by FCA... yeah those are similar. I could go on but why? Get your information elsewhere. By the way, for those that are worried about FIat reliability look up how this engine has held up since winning "Best New Engine of 2010". It also has been known to be easily tuned to WAY more than stock without impacting reliability.

the turbo is a smaller engine than the non-turbo engine produced by Mazda

In a cockpit where every inch counts, I would like to see Mazda remove the parking hand brake on the roadster and go to a push button like they have on the Mazda 6. With that said, I much prefer the lines on the Fiat version including the tail lights and front hood.
