What exactly is "drfish.exe"?

Many Hyundai owners have seen the error message on their nav screens regarding an inability to connect with something called drfish.exe but no one seems to know anything about this mysterious file. Can anyone offer any information as to what this file is, why it's on our cars, what it's trying to connect to, and why it can't connect to it?

Did you see the older Reddit thread about drfish? Sounds like it's part of Windows CE aka Windows Embedded Automotive. Perhaps a corrupted file that you may or may not be able to fix by reflashing your nav.

Ah, I see you've found the other Edmunds thread about it.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I've seen the thread on Edmunds and I've spoken to the dealer who'd never heard of the problem before. It might be a benign file but it's name is very similar to drfishit.exe which is a bot used by World of Warcraft players to "farm", i.e. to generate in-game currency. World of Warcraft farming, by the way, is very popular in... KOREA! Is it possible that some clever programmer in Korea tucked a trojan horse file into the OS so that every Hyundai in the world would farm for him?!?

Funny - so, can you convert the gamer currency into Bitcoin? :)

The problem popped up again, but this time I captured it on video!
