    It is pretty cool...how accurate is it? If it says 1 inch, do you really have 1 inch clearance?

    On my Model S, it's very accurate. Maybe not to an inch tolerance, but certainly very close to that.

    @miata52,

    As @handbrake said, it seems to be quite accurate. I don't have parking sensors on my car because it was an early build and they weren't available yet, but I have had loaner Model S' and the system seems to be accurate to probably +/- 3-5 inches.

    Is the oddly-shaped yellow thing an approximation of the obstacles around the car? If so, does the 27" refer to the closest obstacle or the space directly in front? Something else?

    why do you need this? Autopilot has park assist.
