Toyota Rav4 LTD 2007.... Can I sell this car with this issue?

Hi All,

I was gonna sell my RAV4 LTD 2007. It has 112k miles. Good condition. Noticed the oil light came on early and Toyota service found that it might be consuming excess oil. As advised I did a 1000 mile oil test.

After about 1100 mi the dealer service said it was consuming more oil and said Toyota would replace the Engine piston Rings free! But that's in back order with no ETA :worried:
Unsure why they'd replace for free ...maybe it was a recall?...but dare didn't ask ;)

Till then he said I can drive it but check weekly with dip stick the oil level and top off if needed.

Can I sell this car AS-IS? Can I sell via CL mentioning the issue and that buyer can get it freely fixed @ TOYOTA?
Or shall I sell it "AS IS" without legal implications later? Pls advice :)

thanks...Kris

You probably know this by now. Toyota extended the warranty to a maximum of 10 years for these engines because of the problem you mentioned. Also, I would have the car repaired before selling it to another party.
