2008 Cadillac CTS4 - Transfer Case Failure w/ 40,000 miles

I am saddened to say, after driving my 2008 Cadillac CTS4 with 40,000 miles on it, the transfer case has now abruptly failed. I attempted to pull away from a green light, and suddenly had no movement with acceleration. I was stranded and had to call a flat-bed; $175. A few hours later, I received a call from the mechanic, whom informed me that the transfer case was bad. The transfer-case??? How, with only 40,000 miles, does a car now need $6500 worth of parts and labor to repair? This is hard to swallow knowing this is suppose to be a well-made, luxury car, let alone, with it's low miles, "not covered under warranty." I am sickened, with a knot in my stomach. How do I go about asking Cadillac to help with this? Obviously, this is a flaw in the manufacturing and needs to be addressed. No one should have to go through this. Never in my wildest dream did I think I would purchase this beautiful car, and now have to figure out how I was going to pay to have it repaired? I am so disheartened. Has anyone had any luck with contacting Cadillac Customer Assistance Center? Thank you!

This article may help, but even though you have low miles, your Caddy is eight years old.

    The Secret Warranty

If you've been using the dealer for service all these years, be sure to play that up with Cadillac and the dealer. Maybe they'll eat the labor or split the cost with you.
