Why would my 1992 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer with 4.3 Vortex keep going through fuel pumps so often?

My 1992 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer is going through fuel pumps about ever 1 to 2 years. Ive had to replace 3 in the last 3 or 4 years. It has a 4.3 Vortex with Central Port Injection.

Hello! This problem can have more than one cause. first, if this is an electric pump, the first thing to look at is the ground, check the circuit with an ohm meter, below 1 is great, below 1.5 is acceptable, any more than this is a bad ground. That is assuming the hot wire and relay are good and working correctly. Second, is the tank vent working, if clogged it will create to much vacuum and work the pump to death. Good luck.
