2016 C300 Sport 4Matic - Non-staggered setup?

I have the 18" AMG wheels but cannot seem to get a consistent answer if it possible to use non-staggered tires while keeping the same wheels. The dealer hasn't helped and I've read that this is possible with winter tires so I fail to see why it can't be done with all season tires.

    According to Tire Guides, the wheels are different widths. So unless you plan on changing wheels, the staggered setup is what is specified.

    Further, I don't think that Mercedes (or AMG) is going to comment on the idea of using the same size all season tire in a fashion similar to winter tires because that opens them up to legal issues.
