You guys drive me nuts. Let me guess, there is a Maintenance Minder (or whatever Kia has) that will trigger when you need a new cabin filter. If its like our Pilot's, its the easiest part to replace on the vehicle. Open the glove compartment, put a new one in. On Amazon, I see a highly rated one for $13 shipped Prime. That's $25 for probably 2 minutes worth of work.

Did your $70 even include a Tire Rotation? Absurd. Its probably a simple oil change too. You guys waste too much money.

Really? Remember, not everybody likes to DIY. $70 for 40 minutes of a mechanic's work to do the oil change and go over the vehicle is not that crazy, especially in SoCal.

I get it that in California, its the norm, but here in the rest of the US where the Middle Class lives, its not.

The "checks" should always be free (I always get them free without asking even on my 16 year old 200k vehicles LOL) as there is warranty work for them as a reward if they find anything. Oil changes are always done (or they are willing to) for a loss. Its not uncommon for people to use coupons that are for $20 (sometimes less) oil changes. $30 is reasonable, $70 is NOT unless it includes Tire Rotation (which STILL makes it expensive).

I'll give leeway to those vehicles that require 8 quarts of synethetic oil, but come on.

I hope all of the commenters that say oil changes should be provided at a loss start their own businesses - I'd love to only deal with shops that provide services at a loss!
