Hello , I currently own a 2010 GMC Acadia and it is currently in the shop. As my husband and 2 yr old were dropping me off to work at a stop light, we heard a loud knocking noise and then all of a sudden it stopped everything shut off lost control of the power steering , Hazzard lights were still working but that was it completely dead. Had it towed to the dealership who were actually a Gm dealership and awaited for a response, in the mean time we get to take a taxi in the rain to a rental place and spent the rest of the morning there. Got a phone call the next day and first it was you have no oil in your car it was dry and we are charging your battery because it is dead also the second call was I'm sorry you do have oil but it has a loud knocking noise and it has to do with your cam shafts and timing belt you need a new engine quoted me 7,500 for a new engine are you crazy! I still owe on this vehicle on top of the car rental only had this for a few years I was told to file a claim with Gm but most likely be denied In that case I have a lawyer ready awaiting to file a claim ! This is crazy ! It looks like I'm not only one with this issue on this site , everyone has similar stories .

Looks like there's a 5 year/ 100000 mile drivetrain warranty on Acadias. So GM will probably deny your claim because of that.

The tips in this article may help as you prep your claim:
