2016 Miata gauges wash out in sun

We just bought a new Miata and find that in the sun the gauges, particularly the digital gauge for gas, etc. are illegible in the sun. We tried adjusting the brightness but it didn't work. Suggestions?

    Are you wearing sunglasses when this happens?

    Seems to be a recent issue with a couple of brands.

    Happens with Polarised sunglasses. But OP does not mention wearing them . LCD screens appears washed out if sunlight falls on them even without wearing sunglasses.

    I have the same problem with my Miata. Can hardly read the gauges in bright sunlight. I also have the exact same problem with my 2010 Mazda 3. Also, I have noticed that the digits/numbers on the speedometer seem brighter/whiter than those on the tachometer and gas gauge...or is it just my imagination?
