2000 Ranger stalls after gas fill up

I have a 2000 Ranger XLT 2wd with a 3.0L and 5 speed. If I put in 1/2 or 3/4 tank of fuel it runs great. If I fill it up however, it starts fine, but wants to stall when coming to a stop. It will continually do this until the first 1/4 tank is gone and then runs fine again. I was thinking it may have to do with EVAP system somewhere, but the check engine light never comes on. Any thoughts? Thanks.
