Discounts / trade-ins when ordering

I can't find the exact GLE 450 Coupe I want so I am considering ordering one. There is not that great a discount on this vehicle anyway (at least in Atlanta, maybe 5% off MSRP), but looking if anyone has any advice on negotiating an ordered vehicle? Can I expect to get something off of MSRP? Also, I have a trade that's worth about $20k, so for tax reasons I really want to trade it in...any advice on handling a trade for a vehicle that is probably 60 days out??

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I have no idea about Mercedes pricing but any car that's in short supply and high demand isn't going to be deeply discounted. No reason for them to do this.

Your trade creates a problem since they won't appraise it until you are ready to drive your new car home. In 60 days, it will have depreciated a bit. It'll have more miles on it and it could have suffered body damage.

If you have any flexibility you might want to consider an in stock car. THOSE are the cars the store is eager to sell and those are the ones you'll get the best deal on. Your trade's value won't be a mystery either.

If you have a strong second choice such as the car's color you may want to consider this.

amissner, If you don't mind me asking, did you find your config. I am in the same boat as yours. Also, where you able to get any discount off the MSRP that you can share. Thanks

I too couldn't find a vehicle close enough to what I wanted to I ordered one. The vehicle I spec'd out came to 82,260 and MB of Georgetown, TX accepted my offer of 77,500. I suppose I could've gone a little lower, as they didn't even counter.
