Our Ford and 180,000 miles on it .. time to say goodbye?

We have a 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid. It has 180,000 miles on it. We have had very few problems with it but we fear it is reaching it's sell by date. It rattles a lot (maybe the sway link bar). I just saw something on youtube that might help. The AC has died too. The remote key lock is gonzo.
I have always felt safe in this vehicle. We are looking at purchasing the exact same year and make that only has 165,000 KM on it. I started searching online to read what other experiences around the 2005 FEH were and to be honest, they sound so bad!
Advice anyone? 180,000 miles is about 300,000 km. The one we are thinking of buying is $9000 Canadian. What to do!
