I tested an SX-L myself with 4 kids and a lovely wife, and could not get above 20mpg... keep in mind, my wife owns a 2016 Prius so I do know how to get the most efficient fuel ratings possible. (62mpg 200 miles on hwy avg. 60mph). In comparison, my 2011 CX-9 gets 21-22mpg on the HWY loaded with kids and cargo. That thing is sporting Ford's old V-6 Duratec engine with 10 hp less, AWD, and no special fuel management systems to think of. I'm heavily considering a Kia Sedona, the SX version, mainly because I want a a decent fuel economy. Perhaps a Pacifica? Too high cost for me.
