Buying Used From A Dealer

Hello:

I'm potentially buying a Ford Ranger 2001 that the dealer says had parts newly replaced, namely the fuel pump, fuel filler neck & filters. How do I go about verifying this work was actually done, short of pulling the bed off the truck? Should I ask the dealer for proof from the peeps he takes his work to? If yes, what specifically (a receipt or something along those lines)?

Thanks for any feedback.
